Very Good melodious song.
Hi all
Its thirty years after listing this song for the first time. At last I got it. I heard from Bhimsen joshis golden voice & could note down lyrics.
This is the translation from a native kannada speaker.
kangaLivyaatakO
kaavErirangana nODada
jagangaLoLage mangaLamooruti
rangana sreepaadangaLa nODada ||
What's use of having eyes that does not see Kaveri Ranga who is the mangala moorthi Ranga of the world? (What's the use of the Eyes) that don't see his precious feet.
endigaadaromme janaru
bandu bhoomiyalli nindu
chandrapushkaraNi snaanava maaDi
(aa)nandadindali rangana kaaNada ||
Once in a while, people should take bath in Chandra Pushkarini and happily see Ranga, (If not, what's the use of having eyes)
I am adding the subtext within brackets. The whole song is one sentence where he says "what's the use of having eyes if they can't see (fill in the blanks with deep lyrics)"
haripaadOdaka-sama kaavEri
virajaanadeeli snaanava maaDi
parama vaikunTha rangamandira
para vaasudEvana nODada ||
After you take bath in the Kaveri that washes hari's paduka, If your eyes don 't see the heavenly vasudeva in the Ranga mandira that is like "vaikunta" on Earth, (what's the use of having them?)
haara heera vaijayanti
tOra muttina haara padaka
tEranEri beedili baruva
'rangaviThala'raayana nODada
If your eyes don't see the Ranga Vittala on the Rath(Chariot) wearing garlands, diamonds and the vaijayanthi pendant to the pearl necklace , (What's the use of having them?)
Thank you for the translation.
Regards.

One small change to the second verse
haripaadOdaka-sama kaavEri
virajaanadeeli snaanava maaDi
parama vaikunTha rangamandira
para vaasudEvana nODada ||
After taking bath in Kaveri and that is as pure as the waters that have washed Hari's feet (Kaveri is compared to Vaikunta's Viraja Nadi), If your eyes don 't see the heavenly vasudeva in the Ranga mandira that is like "vaikunta" on Earth, (what's the use of having them?)
The song touches the chord and RANGAVITTHALA resonates in us. Beautiful song by Sri Sripada RAYARU.
@Asha Prasad 🙏 Thank you. Regards Ramarao
